About me
Hi! My name is Jane. Three years ago, my partner’s coworker took us bird watching in Littleton, Colorado and she was able to just use her ears to identify over 30 different birds! I was inspired by her skills and since then, I was hooked!

My partner and I lived in a trailer for a year. We hiked around the Rocky Mountains and it was the perfect classroom for me. I studied field guides and saw over 100 bird species in Colorado. I struggle with depression and anxiety, and birding can be a great mindfulness practice that brings calm to my mind and body.

Now I’m on a mission to share my passion for birds by providing education in a fun, curious, and interactive way. I’m also an advocate for mental health and love to share how much birding has been a healing gift for me. Birds are important to Mother Nature and we can always do our part to give back.

Birding is for everyone, regardless of background, knowledge, or age! There’s always something to learn when we go birding.

I teach a Mindful Birdwatching course at Denver Botanic Gardens and I lead free educational programs with Lafayette Open Space.
I currently work at Denver Audubon as the volunteer coordinator, and I'm part of their Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility Committee. I'm also a co-organizer for the Denver Front Range Chapter of the Feminist Bird Club.
